Charity and Events
At Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Primary School, putting faith into action is at the heart of our Religious Education. Pupils are encouraged to live out Gospel values through acts of service, compassion, and generosity, reflecting Christ’s love in practical ways.
Throughout the year, our children take part in a wide range of charitable and community-focused activities. During Harvest, Christmas, and Easter, we collect for the local food bank and create cards for local pensioners and parishioners who may be lonely, sharing kindness and joy. In September, we support the Macmillan Cancer Coffee Morning, while during Lent 2026, the whole school will join the Lenten Big Walk to help our brothers and sisters in Africa. We have also fundraised for the Garden of Hope project, creating prayer spaces for the whole school community to come together for religious events, with a central point for reflection and worship. In addition, we have supported local families through initiatives such as the Southport Rainbow Run.
As a community, we encourage our pupils to live as modern-day saints, responding to Pope Francis’ call to grow in holiness and act with love and service in everyday life. These experiences allow children to practise their faith, develop empathy, and see how they can make a positive difference in the world.

Recycle, Reuse, Renew: Mini Vinnies Project:
OLW Uniform Donations to the Netherton Park Community Centre for distribution to the families within the community.
What it is:
The Mini Vinnies have launched the Recycle, Reuse, Renew project to support families in our community. We collect pre-loved school uniforms, which are carefully washed, ironed, and donated back to those in need.
Who it’s for:
If your child needs a school uniform, please contact the Netherton Park Community Centre, where uniforms are available to ensure every child has what they need for school.
Why we do it:
This project helps families, cares for our environment by reducing waste, and teaches our children the joy of helping others in a practical way.
